In Greek mythology, the Asphodel Meadows are a section of the ancient Greek underworld where souls are sent. The Fields of Asphodel are close to the Land of dreams and Tartarus is where evil souls are cast and punished.
In my scene we are passing uncomfortably close to Tartarus and getting a glimpse of just how scary this place really is.
